Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with free Sunflowers!
According to the US census, about 15.2 million people in the US are of Asian American heritage. In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Children’s Book Press has partnered with the National Education Association (NEA) and kidthing, inc. to offer teachers, school administrators, and librarians a free digital version of the award-winning children’s book, A Place Where Sunflowers Grow, in conjunction with NEA’s Read Across America Initiative. This is a time-sensitive offer for the month of May only! Click through for more information.
For your free digital download, go to kidthing's online store. Type ktcode-nea5raa into the search field on the left hand side of the page, and click “Go”. From there, you can preview the digital version of Sunflowers, download the kidthing player, and complete your download of the book. Please note that this special offer is only for teachers, administrators and librarians!
In addition to this special offer, during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month we’re proud to highlight our diverse selection of literature from Asian/Pacific Islander communities, including bilingual books in several Asian languages. Check out some of the following books for your home, classroom, or library:
…And you’ll find many more on the Asian/Pacific Islander communities page of this website.
