Patricia Madrigal, Ph.D.

In her current position, Dr. Madigal is involved in the development and coordination of responsive community awareness and education projects. Dr. Madrigal is also the public policy advocate and liaison for the Commission. Prior to working with the Commission, she was involved in research and program development in early childhood education with a focus on early language and literacy. Dr. Madrigal earned a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California where she conducted extensive research for local and federal projects. Her concerns about low literacy skills of children has lead to a personal focus ensuring families have access to literary resources that provide opportunity for language and literacy-rich experiences that reflect their lives.
